Sylvia Lane Jordan

Sylvia Lane McCall Jordan passed away January 18, 2019, peacefully at home with her family by her side. Sylvia was a native Charlottean born February 13, 1941 to Clemmie Ayers and James Irwin (Mac) McCall. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Jordan, her grandson, Stephen Nivens and wife Stephanie of Kannapolis, NC and her granddaughter, Meredith (Murphy) Oliver and husband Kurt of Rockwell, NC. And by her great grandchildren, Aidyn, Eden, Porter and Ranger. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Steve L. Jordan.

Sylvia was in the record industry early in her career but, took over her daddy’s trucking business, McCall Transfer after he passed away. She ended her professional career as a sales rep for Paul A. Ratner Sales. She was very active in the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) for many years and served as National President.

Sylvia’s pride and joy were her grandchildren! She was the first to have pictures when they were small and has continued that pride with the great-grandchildren.

At Sylvia’s request, there will not be a “formal” memorial service. The family has planned a celebration of life on January 27th from 2pm-4pm    and will open their home for an informal drop in to laugh, tell stories and celebrate the amazing woman she was. Please personally contact the family for the address.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Atrium/Cabarrus County Hospice & Palliative Care. The family would like to thank the hospice staff for their amazing support through this difficult time.
