Susan Gurley

Susan Moody Gurley, 87, of Norwood, NC passed away on June 11, 2020.

Susan was born on December 10, 1932 to the late Otis and Mary Moody in Walling, TN.

Along with her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her grandson James Scott Ozier and her sister Kathryn (Cash) Frank.

She is survived by her children Doug Gurley (Amy), Roger Gurley (Jessica), Kathy Eudy, Sandra Hunter, brother Jim Moody (Alice), and grandchildren Sean, Amanda, Eric, Anna, Bethany, great grandchildren Aubrey, Alexis, Shiloh, Devina, Selene, and Zoey, special family friend Dan Gurka and cousin Jimmie Mae Moody..

Susan was known for her love for lighthouses and lived a life of service. She was a Cub Scout Master but her most cherished roles were mother and grandmother. Susan loved spending time with her family and was mom to all her children’s friends who called her "Ma Sue".  She loved to travel and lived in many states. Susan was an avid photographer and captured her adventures through her photographs.

Susan's family was everything to her. She documented the many family gatherings with her pictures. Those pictures now offer sweet memories to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  We will always love and miss you mom.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Levine Cancer Institute (Roy M. Hinson Cancer Center) in honor of Susan Gurley.
