Harrisburg

Sheila Dianne Steele bid farewell to this world on February 24, 2024 in Concord, NC. She leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Sheila was born on February 8, 1947 in Kannapolis, NC to the late, Tillman Thomas Baity and Kathleen Morrison Baity.

In her professional journey, Sheila thrived as a secretary at a body shop, bringing her exceptional skills and warm demeanor to the workplace every day.

Sheila will be fondly remembered for the joy she found in simple pleasures - from "swimming" under the sun with her loved ones to casting a line and reeling in the perfect catch while fishing. Her green thumb was undeniable as she tended to her garden with care and shared her bountiful harvest with those around her. Sheila's culinary talents brought smiles to many faces, especially when she whipped up delicious meals for her family. Her steak and shrimp were family favorites

Sheila's love for travel took her far and wide, but it was in making memories with her family that she found true fulfillment. Spending time and making jell-o for her great granddaughter, Danielle gave her so much joy. Her presence brought warmth and comfort, creating an atmosphere of love and acceptance wherever she went.

Along with her parents, She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joe Steele and beloved brother Tommy Baity.

In mourning her loss and celebrating her life, Sheila is survived by  devoted daughter Debbie Rice and son-in-law Kevin Rice; cherished grandson Shane Rice and granddaughter-in-law Whitney Rice; adored great-granddaughter Danielle Rice; dear sisters Joyce Baity and Brenda Jones, along with brother-in-law Bob Jones; and not forgetting her loyal grand-dog Baby.

As we say our goodbyes to Sheila Dianne Steele, let us remember the light she brought into our lives and carry it forward as we honor her memory each day. May she rest in peace knowing that she was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

God saw you getting tired

God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around you
And He whispered, 'Come to me'.

With tearful eyes we watched you,
As you slowly slipped away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
