Ruth Nelcy Triana, born Ruth Nelcy Triana on December 13, 1948, in Colombia, has passed away on September 27, 2023, at Atrium Cabarrus Hospital. She was a cherished daughter of Adan Triana and Policarpa Gonzalez.

Ruth had an admirable work ethic and dedicated many years to working in the cafeteria in the school system. 

Growing up in the country, Ruth developed a profound love for the outdoors. She often reminisced about her childhood days, swimming in the river and exploring nature's wonders. Described as a tomboy by those who knew her well, she fearlessly embraced life's adventures with boundless energy and enthusiasm.

Ruth completed her high school education before embarking on the journey of motherhood. Family was paramount to her, and nothing brought her more joy than watching her children grow and flourish. Ruth held deep affection for her children and always wanted to keep them close. The bond between them was unbreakable, serving as a testament to Ruth's love and devotion.

A woman of strong faith, Ruth found solace in her devotion to Catholicism. She found comfort in attending church and drew inspiration from her religious beliefs. Knitting was one of her favorite pastimes. Music also played an essential role in Ruth's life; she used it as a source of relaxation and inspiration.

In addition to spending time with family, Ruth had a special place in her heart for her grand puppies Buster and Bandit. One of Ruth's proudest accomplishments was her decision to move to the United States in 1992 in search of a better life for her family. Her courage and determination propelled her forward, navigating new challenges and cultures with grace. Her sacrifices and perseverance will forever be remembered and admired by her family.

Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her son Edgar Barragan, daughter Edith Barragan, son Jesus Corredor, daughter Karen Triana, grandchildren Nathaly, Maria Fernanda, Jesus, Geraldo, Justin, Omar, Karelis, Sebastian, Ayden, three great-grandchildren, sisters Hermilda and Bertha . Ruth's presence will be greatly missed by her family and friends whose lives she touched with her unwavering support and unconditional love.
