Rondo Micajah McIntosh IV, age 50 of Concord, NC, was welcomed into the presence of his Savior on August 2, 2021 after a heroic battle with cancer. The Lord graciously granted him 7 ½ more years with his loving family after diagnosis. Rondo was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 13, 1971 to Rondo and Carolyn McIntosh.
Rondo attended Charlotte Christian School for most of his education but graduated from East Mecklenburg High School. He has been a faithful member of his beloved church, Living Faith Baptist, in Charlotte, NC and was so appreciative of all the ways his church family has loved and supported him over the years. Rondo started his own business, Professional Lawn Care, in 1999. He prided himself on doing the best job he possibly could and treated his customers like family. He strived to pass on these values to his two sons and his loyal employee, Brandon Mullis, who has been like a third son to him. Rondo loved Jesus with all of his heart and had a strong desire for others to know his Savior. He was a Clemson Tigers superfan, VBS emcee extraordinaire, Sunday School teacher, puppeteer, soccer player and golfer, piddler in his shed, and lover of Jurassic Park/Jurassic World. Most of all, he cherished spending time with friends and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, friend, and mentor. His strength and perseverance will be remembered by many.
Rondo is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rondo and Myra McIntosh and Paul and Eulene Jackson; and his sister-in-law, Tiffany Walser. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Monica, and his two sons whom he adored, Logan and Aidan; parents, Rondo and Carolyn McIntosh; in-laws, Doug and Mary Walser; sisters, Anita (Jeff) Childers and Wanda (Wayne) Helms; sister-in-law, Crystal (Scott) McCall; aunts, Diane (Pee Wee) Barnhardt and Wana (John) Reamer; uncles, Tom Jackson, Wayne (Cindy) McIntosh and Hal (Linda) McIntosh; nieces, Carson (Cody) Hagemann and Carley McCall; nephews, Brandon (Amber) Helms, Kevin (Cassie) Helms, Zac (Laura) Childers, Erick McCall, and Connor McCall; along with his precious great-nieces (Allyson and Brooklyn Helen) and nephews (Ryan and Jackson).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Arlington Church Family Life Center, 9801 Arlington Church Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. A celebration of life will follow at 4:00 PM.
The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional, tender-loving care Rondo received from his team of doctors over the years: Dr. Richard Riedel, Dr. Laura Musselwhite, Dr. Victoria Lopez, Dr. Gregory Musa, Dr. Whitney Dominique and especially Dr. Malcolm Hart Squires. They would also like to thank the kind, attentive staff who cared for Rondo during his short stay at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
