Regina Irene Roy, a beloved housewife and devoted matriarch, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at home in Concord, North Carolina, on August 21, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on April 20, 1932, in Quebec, Canada, Regina was one of eight children in a loving family. Her upbringing in Quebec shaped her warm and nurturing personality, characteristics that would continue to define her life.
Regina was known for her joyful spirit and her unwavering faith. She took great care of everyone around her and was a woman of great faith who loved the Lord deeply. This profound love extended into her role as a mother and grandmother, where she created a home filled with warmth and, most importantly, delicious meals. Her culinary talents were well-known among her family; even just two months prior to her passing, she was still cooking for her loved ones, ensuring that every gathering was marked by her trademark dishes.
In addition to her culinary skills, Regina enjoyed various hobbies. She had a passion for needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, and sewing, often making clothing for her daughter in their younger years. These crafts not only showcased her creativity but also reflected her dedication to her family, as each piece was handmade with love.
Regina met and married her husband, Norman Roy, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2014. Together they built a life centered around family values and shared experiences that created lasting memories for their children and grandchildren.
She is remembered by her daughter and grandchildren, including Kathi (Roger) Troutman, her granddaughter Tiffany (Mark) Troutman, and her grandson Brandon (Ashley) Passmore, along with great granddaughters Samantha (Kyle) Zandrowicz, Amelia Troutman, Julia Troutman, and Olivia Passmore, and sister, Jeanine Carbonneau. Regina's legacy lives on in each of them, as they carry forward the lessons of love, devotion, and faith that she instilled.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents, Camille Bouchard and Albénia Savard Bouchard, her husband Norman Roy, and six siblings. Though her physical presence will be dearly missed, Regina's spirit, love, and the cherished memories shared with her family will continue to hold a special place in their hearts.
