Raymond "Franky" Franklin Baskins, 62, passed away October 19, 2017 at CMC Northeast.

Franky was born May 21, 1955 to the late Howard and Nancy Baskins in Concord, NC. 

Franky was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.  He always had a smile to share and never met a stranger.  His loving heart and kind spirit made him a friend to all age groups.  Franky always had a good story to tell and enjoyed sharing them with family and friends often.  He loved traveling with his family.  He liked spending time at their vacation home at Holden Beach, NC.  He was also a lover of all things sports.  Franky was a lifelong Duke Blue Devils fan, especially basketball.  He also was a big Carolina Panthers Fan.  Being an original PSL holder, attending all home Carolina Panthers games and was known to be a Tailgating Extraordinaire!  His specialties while tailgating were "Franky's Steaks" and "Franky Cold Beer".  Annually, he and a few friends would travel to a different baseball venue around the United States.  He enjoyed life!  He loved the Lord and his family dearly.  As an active member of Rocky Ridge UMC, he was the past and present, President of the Rocky Ridge United Methodist Men and was part of several committees at the church.  His servant heart led him to do many things to help at Rocky Ridge UMC.

Franky was a graduate of A.L. Brown high school where he was part of the marching band.  He was also a first chair trumpet player as part of the symphony band.  After high school, Franky became an entrepreneur and was a successful business man.  His entrepreneurial ventures included owning a Multi-level Marketing group, being the owner of a record store, being a band manager, lead singer of the band "Liquid Heat", owner of O'Malley's night club in Salisbury and manager of St. Peppers in Kannapolis, active partner in M&F auto detailing, and owner of Franky Baskins Detailing.  He was a hard worker and a great leader which made him successful at many things in life.  After 44 years as an entrepreneur, he began working at Hendrick Auto Group in Concord, NC, as the auto detailing department manager.

Franky is survived by his wife of over 16 years, Cheryl, daughters Abby Barringer and Kerri Suddreth (Bryson), sister Sandra Moore (Jeff), a soon to be born grandchild, and their dog Samantha Star.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5pm on October 22, 2017 at Rocky Ridge UMC, Concord, NC.  A Celebration tailgate will follow the service on the church grounds.  All are encouraged to wear their Carolina Panthers attire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rocky Ridge UMC Men's group so they can continue in their missions.
