Ramona Mae O'Kane

Ramona Mae O'Kane passed away October 11, 2016 at Pruitt Health-Town Center in Harrisburg, NC.  

Ramona was born July 1, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Carl and Anna Hoffman.  Ramona was an active member at Bay Area Presbyterian Church in Houston, TX.  She even taught many children at her church to swim after teaching herself to swim as an adult.  She wanted the children to learn what she didn't as a child.  Besides swimming, Ramona also enjoyed making handmade porcelain dolls, being a nanny and even traveling the world.  Her travels included trips to Israel, Alaska, and Greece.  Ramona worked as an administrator at Methodist St John Hospital in Houston, TX for over 20 years.

She is survived by her daughters Kathy O'Kane, Patti O'Kane, Madison O'Kane, and Tammy (Jeff) Baker; son Tom (Sheri) O'Kane; grandchildren Michelle DuJardin, Justin DuJardin, JT (Sita) Stukes, Mick (Rebecca) Stukes, Jackie (Jamie) Palmer, Jenna (Brian) Seaford, Max (Danae) Miller, Jennifer Baker (Calvin Harp), Brittany (Scott) Baimbridge, Thadd (Mandy) Baker, and Noah Baker; Great grandchildren Brianna Palmer, Zac Palmer, Titus Palmer, Ashton Palmer, Jake Miller, Troy Miller, George Eunyul Stukes, Olivia Harmon , Eli Baimbridge, Violet Baker, Fitz Baker, Nadia O'Kane, Allie O'Kane, and William O'Kane.

In addition to her parents, Ramona is preceded in death by brothers Carl, Eugene,Don, and Fred Hoffman; sisters Georgie, Ruth, and Grace Hoffman.

A graveside service will be held Friday October 14, 2016 at 1pm at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Harrisburg, North Carolina.
