A time to live: Jerz or Big Mont then relocated to Charlotte NC in the late 2000s where he became a self-made business owner and pillar in his community. He had his own style and was a great friend to many but also a very private person but was always willing to sacrifice and help others.

Phillip cared greatly about all of his nieces and nephews. With all his nieces and nephews, he had unique bonds and conversations. He was dedicated to ensuring that all his hard work and sacrifices paved the way for them to have a better future. There is a saying that Phillip used to say often to many people he encountered: "It is business never personal". He spoke this saying prophetically when conversing with his nieces but it especially resonated with Justice and Al-Nina. On behalf of Sekina, Al-Nina, Justice, and Quentin he made sure they knew "It is business never personal”. This philosophy of Phillip has helped make them all better people. He will truly be missed.
