Paul L Johnson

Paul L. Johnson, 59, of Charlotte, NC he lost his fight to cancer and gained his wings on August 23, 2020. He was born on July 11, 1961 in Roanoke, VA to Hubert Johnson and Constantine Guerrant .

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his niece, Angie Burnette.

He is survived by his wife of almost 31 years, Cathy Johnson; daughters, Lakisha Harris and Kyra Johnson; son, Lamont Harris; 5 granddaughters; Cierra Harris, Amber Harris, Ashanti Brown, Jaziyah Harris, Jakyah Harris, and two grandsons Jayvon Harris and Josiah Harris.  Sisters, Nadine (Walter) Burnette, Sheri Guerrant, and Beverly Smith; brother Anthony “Charlie” Guerrant; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Paul was a loving husband (soul mate), father and in his selflessness, Paul was a foster parent to many for 25 years. He was known for being laid back and funny, but most of all he was known to be a great father and grandfather.

Paul enjoyed fitness and a healthy lifestyle. He started bodybuilding at the age of 14. He loved gardening and plants. Even when diagnosed with colon cancer, he maintained an active lifestyle and positive outlook. Paul was a great support to others fighting colon cancer as well. He had a kind word, shared photos of his journey for inspiration, and encouraged others however he could.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1:00PM at Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation located at 3840 NC Hwy 49 South, Harrisburg, NC 28075.
