Patrick Nedro Blackwell

Patrick Nedro Blackwell, 68, passed away on May 30th, 2023 at his home in Harrisburg, NC. He was born in Sampson County, NC on March 5th, 1955.

Ned spent his entire career as a plumber, starting from the age of 15. However, it was his passion for spending time with his loved ones that truly made him come alive. Nothing brought him more joy than hanging out with his family or relaxing at the beach. His grandchildren affectionately called him "Poppy" which brought a smile to his face every time.

Ned loved to go saltwater fishing. He cherished these moments because it allowed him to spend even more time with family and friends. He was a man who always saw the positive side of things and had a heart full of love for everyone he met.

On June 1st, 2023, visitation will be held at Sloan Lake Community Church in China Grove from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Charlotte, NC.

Ned's passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him but they take solace knowing that he is reunited with his father Earl Blackwell in Heaven.

Ned is survived by his loving wife Pam Blackwell and mom Janice Stuart as well as his children Chris Blackwell, Jan Hinnant (and husband Jimmy), Patrick Blackwell (and wife Jane), Ashley Connell (and husband Danny), Lisa Robbins (and husband Chris) and Tony Belk (and wife Megan), brother Bill Blackwell and sister Dawn Russell. He was adored by his fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Ned are left with lasting memories of a man who exuded warmth and love. The world is a little darker without him in it, but the light of his legacy will shine on forever.
