Patricia Cevaal

Patricia A. Cevaal, 91, of Harrisburg, NC passed away on March 29, 2023.

She was born in Gallia, OH on November 30, 1931, to the late Henry Stanley Moomaw and Orpha Elizabeth Pearson.

Along with her parents, Patricia A. Cevaal is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Calvin D. Cevaal, Her daughter Kitty Lei Rose, Her sister’s Phyllis A. Moomaw (Council) , Marcena J. Moomaw (Trankley),  brother in-law Arthur Wilson, and grandson Jason Lee Verrier.

She is survived by her sister, Hazel Moomaw (Wilson), her daughters Kathryn J. Rose (Emerson), Rebecca L. Rose (Verrier-Watt), Allison Cevaal (Pereira), Michele Cevaal (Fritts), and son William Cevaal, as well as 4 nieces, 5 nephews, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is known for her wicked sense of humor, feistiness, and her love for family. Our fondest memories of her are the numerous gatherings and family dinners she hosted over the years. She was an accomplished Cruciverbalist and was published in the New York Times crossword section, as well as many other publications. She was a talented award-winning quilter, most known for her scrap quilts. She enjoyed gardening and working with the Earth. Her favorite past time was to talk with her sister Hazel every Sunday Morning. Her friends and family loved her sense of humor most of all.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 5, 2023, at 1pm, at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC. 28144.
