Nancy T. Meadows, 89, went to be with her personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 2, 2018 at CMC- Northeast in Concord, NC.
She was born January 28, 1928 to the late John and Emma Thomas in Carolltown, Pennsylvania.
Mum, as she was known by her children, is survived by her sons Edward Meadows, Jim Meadows (Kathy), and Paul Meadows; daughters Jayne Meadows, Karen Hartnett (Brian), and Kelly Donato (Paul); god-daughter Mem Miller; god-grandson Jonathan Miller; grandchildren Joshua, Nicole, Jessica, Kaycee, Paul Jr., Jessica, Anthony, and Corey; and five great grandchildren.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles “Gene” Meadows and her eight siblings.
A member of Greater St. James Church, Nancy loved Jesus with all her heart. She considered Jesus her best friend and valued her relationship with the Lord above all. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed reading her Bible, prayer time, and sitting out on the deck watching the trains go by. She would often wave and received a quick horn blow from the train engineers saying hello back.
Remembered by her loved ones as feisty and spunky; you knew Nancy liked you when she would jokingly give you a hard time or a good-natured ribbing. Nancy’s huge heart and concern for other was a great comfort for strangers and more importantly her family. She had a servant heart. She was selfless in her love for others. It wasn’t uncommon for her to approach a mom with children in store and graciously offer to help with their groceries only stating that she was “giving for the LORD”. She is remember as sharing Psalm 50: 15 when those around her needed a word of encouragement.
And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. ~Psalm 50:15
Let this scripture be of comfort to the family during this difficult time. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
