Mary D. Dymond

Mary DePastino Dymond, 98, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on January 11, 2023.

Mary was born in Southington, Connecticut on June 10, 1924 to the late Lucy Picano and Alex DePastino.

Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband Irvin Dymond; son-in-law David Neuman; grandchild Eric Dymond; siblings, Alice Sartwell, Alex DePastino, Katherine Chmura, Julie Zarrella and Lucy DeGumbia.

Mary is survived by her sister Rose Lord, her children Mary Neuman, Allen Dymond (Linda), bonus daughter Susan Peterson Yelvington; grandchildren Jeffrey Dymond, Pamela Daniels (Lucky) and Jason Neuman (Nikki); great grandchildren John Patrick Dymond (Jackie), Bailey Gallagher, Caden Gallagher, Henry Dymond, Eli Neuman, and Ellis Neuman and many, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that were special to her.

Mary lived most of her life in Southington, Connecticut; in her retirement she shared time in Edgewater, Florida and Shickshinny, Pennsylvania. In 2013, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to spend her final years. It is here she got to enjoy being with family often, traveling and meeting new friends in her 90’s. Throughout all of her years she was most passionate about sharing her love of food with her family and friends. She never missed a beat, getting her daily updates from her “news reporter” Susan Yelvington. A special thank you to those who cared for her in her last years at Terra Bella of Harrisburg, especially her best friends Jasmine and Maria, our family is eternally grateful for the love and comfort you provided.

A celebration of life will be held on her 99th birthday, June 10, 2023; as details develop family and friends will be made aware.
