Harrisburg, NC

Louise Kofron Marsh, age 91, peacefully passed away on August 10th, 2022 in Concord, NC.

She is survived by her children, Larry Marsh of Concord, NC; Sharon Williams (Sonny) of Boulder, CO; David Marsh of Vancouver, WA; and Kevin Marsh (Kelly) of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters Randee Estes (Gavin), Loni Williams, and Ashley Marsh, and grandsons Tyler Marsh, Ryan Marsh, and Robert Marsh. She also leaves behind her great-granddaughter and weekly pen-pal Shay Estes. Louise is survived by her brothers Joe Kofron and Robert Kofron.

Louise was witty, fun, outspoken, and was very much loved. She was born in Colonial Heights, VA in 1931. She worked as a secretary at Fort Lee where she met Robert Marsh, whom she married in 1950. She continued her career at NASA, where she met the Mercury 7 astronauts. She won several cooking contests in Hampton, VA and as a result, representatives from Procter and Gamble came to the Marsh family home to watch Louise fry her prize-winning chicken. Louise enjoyed staying active in her community, including participating in Church, Toastmasters International, the Senior Center, ECA Club, and the Red Hat Society, where she made many cherished friends. She was always looking for adventure! In 1987, she won a trip to Paris where she ate crepes, went for a boat ride on the River Seine, and visited the Eiffel Tower. She was a fan of Clay Aiken, and Randee and Gavin treated her to 3 concerts over the course of his tours. During one show, Clay performed popular songs from each decade. When asked her favorite decade, Louise responded, "This one, because I believe in living in the moment!" She enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas over the years to visit with her sons David and Kevin and their families. In 2018, she toured National Parks in Utah with Sharon, Loni, and her beloved niece Ramona Hauswurz. In 2021, she celebrated her 90th birthday in Colorado with much laughter, love, and fantastic food.

The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date. Internment will be at Harrisburg-Charlotte Memorial Park next to her husband Robert of 42 years, who preceded her in death in 1992. Online condolences may be made at www.HarrisburgFC.com
