Linda Lane Ritch

Linda Ritch, 82 of Charlotte transitioned to be with the Lord surrounded by the love of her family at University Hospital on February 23, 2022. Born, October 19, 1939 to the late Lilly Mae and Franklin Ballard in Charlotte, NC.  She attended North Mecklenburg High School and worked as a supervisor for Paragon Mop before retiring. Linda pledged her love for God at an early age and was a long time member of Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Chapel. She was the type of woman who gave her all to her family and asked for little in return. She enjoyed family trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Myrtle Beach and the mountains with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Later in life, she found a passion for cruising and went on many adventures with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She collected owls, lighthouses, and earrings. Linda had multiple pairs of earrings for every single holiday. Her children promise they have never seen her wear the same pair twice. She loved to crochet and would make anyone a blanket who asked. She made the world’s best potato salad, chicken & dumplings, and sweet potato casserole. Even though she did not understand much about football, she never missed watching the Carolina Panthers play and was always so excited when they won.  Her love, smile, and made up words will be missed greatly by her closest family.

Linda was preceded in death by loving husband of 45 years, Julies “Duke” Ritch Sr., son, Julies “Jay” Ritch Jr., daughter, Dane Holub, siblings, Randy Ballard and Beverly Howard, and her parents. She continues to live on through all of her loving family. She is survived by her children, Gina (Hilton) and Mark Ritch. Her sister Patricia Drake. Her grandchildren, Michelle (Corey), Michael (Wendy), and Steven Abney. Her great-grandchildren, Shawn, Tiffany, Anthony, Trenton, Elijah, Arianna, and Angel. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Harrisburg Funeral and Cremation is serving the family. A celebration of life will be held graveside at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212 on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
