Larkin William Brown, Jr.

Larkin William Brown, Jr., 72, of Charlotte, NC passed away on August 9, 2024.

He was born on November 5, 1951 in Jamaica Queens, NY to the late Larkin and Marjorie Brown.

Our beloved husband father grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Larkin Brown Jr. "Butch" was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Michael, sister, Patricia and grandson Michael Jr.

Butch was an affectionate dedicated, hard-working husband father, brother, friend who put the needs of others ahead of his own.

Being a hard-working man, he made a name for himself in the military, then on to the New York City Police Department. He and his wife served at the NYPD for 26 years until they retired in 2009 leaving behind hundreds of colleagues that loved them unconditionally.

He was born in the bustling city of New York which stayed his home for many years until he moved down south to Charlotte, NC.

He is survived by his wife Dianna: four sons Johnathan (Deann), Larkin Jr. (Keisha), Michael (Monique), and Kevin; sisters Francine, Edith, Victoria (Leonard), and brother Frederick; grandchildren James, Larkin (Jasmine), Elijah, Larina (Grands), Taylor, Arayna, Jayla, Truly, Kardian, Kennedy, Cannon, Gabby, Stella, Stefan, Nakiya (Dayvon), Naiquan, Thomasia, Mark, Andre, Nievea, Naisuan, Rameeka, Shantaya, Johnathan, Alexander, Elijah, Amina, Justin, Dante, Kyree, Monaysha, and Clarence.

Larkin's memory will remain in our hearts and all those who had the privilege to know him. His legacy live on for generations inspiring those around him by his kindness generosity and unforgettable spirit. He will be mourned and missed. But more he will be celebrated to live on in our hearts forever.

The family will honor Mr. Brown  on August 16, 2024 with a Visitation starting at 10 am in the chapel at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11am. Burial with military honors will be at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, NC. Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation is serving the Brown family.
