Kathryn Suellen Thomas, "Katy Bug", has passed away at the age of 32. Katy was born in Charlotte, NC on November 30th, 1990, and it was here that she made many of her fondest memories.
Katy was the life of the party and loved nothing more than spending time with her siblings: Michael A. Thomas, Sr. (Crystal), Timothy Thomas (Kristine), Nicole Thomas, David Thomas (Danielle), Elizabeth Thomas, and Michael D. Thomas Jr. To Katy, family was everything, and there was no boundary for what she would do for her loved ones.
She had an unbreakable spirit, a joyful laugh, and a radiant smile - she even smiled with her eyes. Katy's compassion and selflessness knew no bounds; she believed that one's word is important and lived by the Thomas word of honor.
In addition to her love for family, Katy had a few unique hobbies. She got her first fishing pole at 3 years old. It was her favorite thing to do with her son Tylor and with her dad and brothers growing up. Katy had a love for shoes that began as a child and persisted throughout her life- this is why she was lovingly nicknamed "Katy Shoe". Her name was shortened to Katy Sue because her middle name was Suellen, which came from her grandmother and aunt. Due to her love of shoes, Sue became Shoe as part of her nickname.
Although Katy's time here was short-lived, she accomplished many things in her life. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother to her son Tylor; he brought untold amounts of joy that will never be forgotten.
Katy is preceded in death by her father Michael Thomas Sr., grandmothers Elizabeth Mayers Thomas and Ellen Wollinsky. She leaves behind cherished memories with those who survive her: son Tylor; mother Kathy Griggs (David); siblings Michael A Thomas Sr. (Crystal), Timothy Thomas (Kristine), Nicole Thomas, David Thomas (Danielle), Elizabeth Thomas, Michael D Thomas, Jr., and nephew Jeremiah Thomas, uncle Charles Mitchell, uncle Tim Thomas, uncle Tony Thomas and many beloved nieces & nephews.
