John "Karlis" Lukevics

John "Karlis" Lukevics, 51, passed away on June 3, 2022 after a tragic sudden illness. Born April 24, 1971, Karlis was a lifelong Derita resident, graduate from North Mecklenburg High School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte holding a degree in Business Administration. Throughout the years, he worked for LaPointe Honda, Wilkinson and Associates, Best Buy and, currently, Allstate Insurance.

 

Karlis was an avid comic book/figurine collector, a connoisseur of music, a true lover of the games of golf and video.

 

Preceded in death by his parents, John Janis and Sandra Hunter Lukevics, Karlis is survived by his only sister, Cheryl Lukevics Long; nieces Shelley Eaton (James) and Kelley Leagan all of Davenport, Florida; "Super Aunt", Dardnell "Tiny" Pait (Danny); nephews Christopher Pait and Daniel Pait of Concord, North Carolina; his special friend of many years, Rhonda Page McGuire of Charlotte, North Carolina; extended family members; and his cat, Kitty.

 

The family wishes to thank the Neuro ICU of Atrium Carolina Medical Center of Charlotte for their outstanding care and comfort during this difficult situation. No memorial service is planned at this time. We ask that family members and good friends remember Karlis for his quick wit, laughter and shared memories throughout the years. Forever in our hearts ~
