Janette R. Harper Jones, 49, transitioned on Tuesday July 19, 2022 at the Atrium Northeast hospital in Concord, NC from Covid-19 but was battling Lupus for many years.
Janette was born to the late Michael Hicks and Regina Harper and granddaughter of the late Emma R Harper on October 19, 1972 at Newark Beth-Israel Hospital in Newark, NJ and was raised in the Township of Montclair. Janette was a proud 1991 graduate of Montclair High School. After High School Janette gained employment at Hoffman-LaRoche Pharmaceuticals. Janette later went on to receive her credentials to be a dental hygienist and worked for dentists Dr. Thame and Dr. Warren. This was her second passion and goal in life. She then worked for several years at Jersey City Community Charter School teaching K through 3rd grade, this was her first passion and brought her the most joy in life. She was very determined to provide for her and her kids and also worked at Comcast cable as a side job. Janette always had a love for art and shared that love with her kids, whether it be painting, arts and crafts she loved expressing herself in her work. She also loved animals, especially her pets. Most of all her dogs Ivy, Alexis, and many fish. No matter where she lived you could be sure that she had a pet. Our hometown, Montclair held a special place in her heart and the memories from childhood always brought her much laughter and smiles. Although she was all the way in North Carolina, New Jersey was always HOME. She also loved to host and cook for her family, especially during the holidays.
