Gary Wayne Weir

Gary Wayne Weir of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 22nd, 2020 at the age of 66. 

Gary was born in Waxhaw, North Carolina on May 17th, 1954 to the late Hansel Edison Weir and Dora Jean Clontz (Howard). He attended West Mecklenburg High School and was a lifelong resident of Charlotte, North Carolina. 

Gary enlisted in the Navy at a young age and went on to work for the railroad for many years. Following working for the railroad - Gary managed logistical operations for several companies before retiring. When not working, Gary enjoyed cruising along the Blue Ridge Parkway or spending time with his golden retriever, Zach. 

A loving and dedicated father, Gary is survived by his daughter, Rachel Elise Weir and sister, Susan Hamm. 

A celebration of life will be held Sunday June 7th, 2020 at 2:00 PM in Charlotte, North Carolina at a private residence. All are welcome to attend and the address to the celebration can be found by emailing weirfamily2@yahoo.com. 

His family will be scattering his ashes at sea and in the mountains of North Carolina in private ceremonies at a later date.
