Gary L. Pinkley

Rev. Gary L. Pinkley went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2019 at the age of 74. Gary was married to the love of his life, Karen Rowe Pinkley, for 54 years.  He is survived by Karen and their two daughters Charlotte and Janet and his brother Melvin Pinkley.

Gary was born in St. Louis, Missouri but called Florida home for most of his life.  Before entering the ministry, he served as an AG Officer in the United States Army, after which he was a pastor for 48 years in North Carolina, Mississippi, and Florida. He also lead mission trips to Honduras, Nicaragua, and to help needy churches throughout the United States. In 2010, after "retiring" to North Carolina, he accepted the call as pastor to Howell's Baptist Church, which he enjoyed until his final day.

Gary will be remembered for the love he had for his Lord, his wife and children, and for his contagious smile and sense of humor. His favorite scripture was John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me..." We find peace and comfort knowing Gary now enjoys the pure joy of being with his Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be held on March 22, 2019 at Howell's Baptist Church, 3800 Baptist Lane, Concord, NC. Viewing will be at 6:00 PM and service at 6:30 PM.
