Evelyn Wanda Dance

Evelyn Wanda Dance, 64, passed away March 6, 2017 at CMC Northeast.

Evelyn was born May 2, 1952 in Bristol, VA.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Dance, daughters Michelle Williams (Mike), Mercedes Thomas, Lisa Alspaugh (Aaron) and Lea Owens; stepson Steven Dance; brother Tom Wilkins; grandchildren Jessica W., Andrew, Emily, Lexie, Aaron II, Bradley, Bella, Jessica D and Caleb.

Evelyn was an amazing woman who was always there when you needed a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear.  She loved caring for people which made her a wonderful, dedicated nurse.  As an at home healthcare provider, her patients were not just clients.  Evelyn treated her patients like family, and she went above and beyond to make sure they had the best care and assistance possible.  Her caring nature was also accompanied by a fun loving spirit that was very much in tune with the needs of her family.  Evelyn and Tom were definitely two peas in a pod.  She knew him and the rest of the family so well that she could anticipate what they needed without them asking. This was evident by the many times she would cook exactly what Tom wanted for dinner without him even asking her.  She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren. Evelyn and Tom were not only husband and wife but also great friends. They enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing the Pamunkey River in Virginia together. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

The family will hold a memorial service for Evelyn at 2:00 PM on March 11, 2017 at United Love Baptist Church.
