Eric Antonio Wilmer, known affectionately as "Frog," was born on July 5, 1979, in Jacksonville, NC. He passed away on November 17, 2024 in Charlotte, NC, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate within his family and friends.
Eric was a dedicated professional, serving as the owner and CEO of Racks Apparel. His career also included valuable experiences at London D'S in Charlotte, NC, and the Carolina Panther Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC. His work not only reflected his ambition but also showcased his passion for fashion and commitment to excellence.
He graduated from South Atlanta High School in Atlanta, GA, an accomplishment that laid the groundwork for his future endeavors. Eric’s warm personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met; he made it a point to never end a phone call without saying, "I love you." This simple but profound expression of love exemplified his character and the relationships he cherished.
Eric's family was his anchor, and he is survived by his loving mother, Linda Wilmer Bailey, and his wife, Karen Wilmer of Many, Louisiana. He leaves behind brothers De'Say Wilmer and his wife Measha of Raleigh, NC, and Daimeon Bennett of Atlanta, GA, as well as a sister, Joy, and her husband Andre Reed of Detroit. Eric also had close connections with his maternity brothers, Yakingma Robinson of Atlanta, GA, and Isaac Weatherby of High Point, NC. His familial bonds extended to Barry Capehart of Wilmington, NC. He was blessed with a loving Godmother, Julia Hicks of Atlanta, GA, and a Godfather, Curtis Thomas of Atlanta, GA, along with his great aunt Vernell Redd of Jacksonville, NC, and great uncle Jerome Pearson.
In addition to his family, Eric is remembered fondly by his niece and nephew, along with a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was also the proud owner of Precious, his beloved furbaby dog, who brought joy and companionship to his life.
Eric Antonio Wilmer’s vibrant spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love remains a testament to the remarkable man he was.
