Ellen Major Campbell went home to be with the creator on July 20, 2023 at 1:22 am.
She was born in Harlem NY on February 6, 1951 to Evelyn Robinson Major and Edward Major.
She is preceded in the afterlife by her mother Evelyn Major, father Edward Major, brothers: Edward Major Jr, Elliot Major, Ernest Major and sister Elaine Major.
Ellen is survived by her daughter Keisha Campbell Brown, Son in law Jahshad Brown, granddaughter Genesis Brown, grandson Jahshad Brown Jr and Evan Burleson, sisters Frances Barnhill, Edwina Major Leggett, brother-in-law Sherill Leggett, niece Shavonne Freelandor, nephews, Erik Major, Edward Major, Terrence Powell, Garrard Barnhill. A host of cousins, and friends she adopted as family.
Ellen went to Evander Childs High School and later went on to Plattsburgh State University with her sister Edwina (Elois). Through her professional endeavors she landed a career at IBM as a troubleshooter when personal computers first became available to the public. She later worked for KISS FM radio station where she met celebrities and was interviewed as a success story on the radio station. Ellen soon had the desire to travel abroad and she fulfilled her dream and traveled to Nassau Bahamas where she met the man she would later marry and have a daughter with. She married Michael Campbell October of 1984 in Nassau Bahamas with an intimate ceremony surrounded by close relatives and friends. Life had its twist and turns that later led to the completion of their marriage. However, they both remained friends and supportive of each other. Ellen was always looking to experience as much as she could even in her later years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Phoenix University in 2013. She received her certificate in demonology from the Church of God in Christ in 2006. Ellen was certified Zumba instructor and was also a certified in Early Elementary Education. She was a great cook and loved eating healthy. In her spare time, she watched Netflix and loved spoiling her grandkids with cookies. She was a child of the Most High and imparted Godly wisdom into her grandkids. She was the type of mother that would show you her love through sacrifice. She was an elegant woman, a woman after God's heart and whose family was the center of her life. We will truly miss your physical presence. We will forever love you.
