Edward Proffitt

Edward Proffitt "Jr.", aged 82, of China Grove, NC, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on November 28, 2024, at his home in China Grove.

Born on November 9, 1942, in Washington, DC, Eddie was the cherished son of the late Edward and Opal Mae Proffitt. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, including Margaret, Dora Arlene, and Wesley, as well as by his children Deborah, Carmen, Michael, and Tisa. Eddie leaves behind a legacy of love through his ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Eddie, affectionately known as "Cowboy," was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He dedicated fifty years of his life to Superior Tile & Marble, where he was a hardworking employee who viewed his coworkers as family. Eddie's spirit shone bright, always uplifting those around him with his favorite saying, "I'm doin' fine. I can jump a 10 rail fence!"

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife Virginia and his siblings Lonnie, Mary, Freda, Billy, and Mona Faye. His warm presence and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will celebrate his life at West A Tabernacle, 1218 W A Street, Kannapolis, NC on Thursday December 5th 2024 at 11am. A graveside will be held at 1PM at Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
