Edda Acacia Blanco Sosa, 83, passed away at her home in Pineville, NC on Sunday, November 8, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 4, 1937 in Tacuarembo, Uruguay, South America to the late Placido and Elma Blanco.
In addition to her parents, Edda was preceded in death by brothers Omar, Jose, Roberto, Juan, Carlos, sisters Selva and Marilu.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Augusto Sosa, sons: Fernando (Dina), Gustavo (Laura), Pablo (Katie) and Nicolas (Amy). Grandchildren: Daniella Fry (Nick), Liz Sosa, Julianna Berg (Brandon), Samantha Sosa, Carolina Sosa, Enzo Sosa, Darrah Rose Sosa, Benicio Sosa, Pearl Sosa, Great grandchildren : Miles, Norah, Edda, and Ray, Brothers: Oscar (Inez) Hector (Teresa), Hugo (Carmen), Luis (Mariana) and sister Mireya Bolagno (Carlos) as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Edda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, abuela and friend. She enjoyed and loved time with her family. Whether she was preparing a meal, sewing, watching sports, or gardening it was done with the love of her family in mind. She was a beautiful woman that was cherished by many.
The family will hold a private celebration at Harrisburg Funeral Home on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:00.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2:45, at the Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 6570 Morehead Rd in Harrisburg, NC. It will be livestreamed on Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation's Facebook Page. Audio quality may be impacted with this outdoor service.
