Donald Eugene Ledbetter

March 20, 1962 — February 23, 2024

Concord

Donald Eugene Ledbetter (age 61) passed away peacefully on February 23rd, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

Born March 20th, 1962, to the late Johnny Walter Ledbetter and Sadie Lucille Pennington, Donald lived his young life in Charlotte, NC with his parents, grandmother Lily Alder Ledbetter ("Granny"), and four siblings Steve, Gary, Debbie and Teresa, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby.

Donald married his wife, Janet Pethel Ledbetter, in 1988, and they were married for 29 years before her passing. Donald and Janet were loving parents to three boys, before becoming grandparents, which was their proudest accomplishment. Following Janet’s passing, Donald found comfort in his rescued dogs and spending time with his youngest granddaughters. Donald had a passion for music, specifically Rock and Country, and enjoyed playing guitar. He liked watching Nascar races, with his favorite driver being Rusty Wallace. One of his favorite places was the ocean, specifically Myrtle Beach.

He will be remembered for the love and care he shared with his friends and family. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his son Joshua, wife Sarah, and their three daughters Aurora, Everlee and Shiloh; son Nicholas, fiancé Melanie, and their soon-to-be born daughter Rheá; son Adam, wife Jeni, and their two children Courtney and Dalton; sister Teresa; brother Steve, as well as extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 2nd, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation in Harrisburg, NC with remembrances and music. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Cabarrus County.
