Cynthia Marie Shepard

Cynthia Marie Shepard, 61, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Shirley and Truman Shepard; sister, Kathy Meeks; niece Heather Pasley; and nephew, Samuel Brake.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters Rebekah White (Andy) and Jenna Cruse, brother William Shepard (Karla) and sister Alisa Brake (Jonathan), along with nieces and nephews. In addition, Cindy is survived by her former husband of twenty years, John Cruse, and many close friends.

Cindy was born on August 31, 1961 in Burke County, NC. She grew up in Charlotte and loved city life as well as exploring the mountains. Her hobbies included cooking, bird watching, sight-seeing, and she had a knack for plants with a green thumb.

Cindy had a passion for caring for others and often placed others' needs before her own. No matter her own circumstances, she would give anything she had to help others in need.

Cindy worked in the clerical/bookkeeping field, working long hours for her family so they could all go on a family trip from time to time. Cindy's favorite holiday was Christmas and she could not wait to wear her Christmas vest and host Christmas gatherings at her home, filling the counters with food.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 3:00pm at Harrisburg Funeral & Cremation located at 3840 NC Hwy 49 S, Harrisburg, NC 28075.
