Christopher Thomas Jones, 54, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, North Carolina.
Chris was born in Rutherford County, NC on November 28, 1967 to Thomas Jones and Beth A. Pollhammer. He is preceded in death by his father and sister, Elizabeth Marie Jones. Chris is survived by his mother Beth Pollhammer of Concord, NC, sister Tracie J. Lewis of Troy, NC, niece Brandy Rollins & family of Concord NC, nephews Travis Phillips & family, Dillion Phillips & family, and Daniel Phillips. Chris had a way of making friends who became his family. Kelsey Behl, Sarah Jennings, Kimberly Crane, Rhoene Huffman, Lark Dunton, and Patty McCoy made a lasting mark on Chris’s life and his legacy.
Chris was a modern renaissance man. His career evolved from contracting to hardscaping to landscape design. Each shift highlighted his creativity, skill, attention to detail, and appreciation for beauty. He was as comfortable in the kitchen as he was with a guitar - and incredible food and incredible music were never far when Chris was near. Conversations with Chris were deep, unpredictable, and always entertaining. He could discuss sports as easily as he could physics.
Chris strove to live a life where his word was impeccable, he didn’t take things personally, he didn’t make assumptions, and he always did his best. Through this, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved his family deeply and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him, because to know him was to love him. The family appreciates the love and support received from so many.
The memorial service for Chris will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, September 17th, at Harrisburg Funeral - 3840 Hwy 49, Harrisburg NC 28075.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter (244 Betsy Carpenter Pl SW, Concord, NC 28025).
