Cameron Harel Cook made his grand entrance in to the world at University Hospital in Charlotte, NC on January 26, 1998 at a whopping 9 lb 7 oz. He was born to Harvey Cook Sr. and Jennifer Payne Cook. Cameron started school at Harrisburg Elementary and also attended CC Griffin Middle school. He graduated high school from Hickory Ridge High School.
Cameron passed away tragically on September 6, 2020 in Charlotte, NC. He leaves behind his parents, sisters Gabreyel Cook, McKencee Cook, Zakonya Allen, Brothers Harvey Cook Jr. and Keeyahn Cook, grandparents Bruce and Allene Thompson, aunts Toni Henderson (Gregory) and Tamara Golden King (Ayenta), uncle Joseph Cook, and his girlfriend Molly McGevna, and a host of cousins and very close friends (too many to name but you know who you are).
Cameron grew up playing football, soccer and basketball. He loved being outside whether it was at the beach, in the mountains, or just putting his bare feet in the grass. He was an avid, reader, writer and debater…if you ever came to debate him, have your facts ready. Cameron had a compassionate heart and people were drawn to that. This was evident in his close-knit friendships. His friends loved him dearly. Because his death was so sudden, we are encouraging his friends to write a final note to him. For those attending the viewing, there will be a basket for those notes.
Charitable donations may be made to Mothers of Murdered Offspring (2425 Kings Park Drive Suite B Charlotte, NC 28208) in Cameron's honor.
