Beverly Elaine Wooster, age 88, passed away July 7, 2024 from quick onset of stage 4 adenocarcinoma.
She was born September 4, 1935 in Theresa, NY to Fred and Doris Finley and was a 1953 graduate ( Salutatorian ) of Theresa HS. She graduated in 1957 with a BS Degree in Physical Education at SUNY Cortland. She soon met and married Richard Vock, also from Theresa. Within a few years, they had two children, Laurie and Curtis, and settled in Ontario, NY. She started with the Webster School District in 1961 and she taught there until her retirement at age 55.
She and Dick later divorced, and she married Donald Wooster, from Ontario; they had two sons, Mark and Lance. Don was a lifetime Rotary International member, and they travelled the world – including all continents except Asia and Antarctica. Don passed away in 2010 and in 2018, she moved to Mint Hill, NC near Lance.
Beverly was a gifted clarinetist and pianist. As a teenager, she was often pulled out of school to play for funerals. In her adult life, she could be found playing hymns at church, accompanying the Cresswind Choraliers during concert season or striking a tune in her living room or bedroom. She was also an incredibly talented gardener, creating beautiful landscapes for each of her homes.
Beverly was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Donald and step sons Michael and Randy Wooster. She is survived by her sister, Gail (Paul) Philbee of Paducah, KY, her children - Laurie Vock of Fairport, NY, Curtis (Mary) Vock of Boulder, CO, Mark (Cindi) Wooster of Hilldale, UT, and Lance (Alison) Wooster of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charlotte Celebration of Life will be held at her home on Wednesday 7/17/24 at 1pm
Graveside service at Webster (NY) Rural Cemetery on Friday 8/16/24 at 1pm.
Webster Celebration of Life at the house at B. Forman Park, Williamson, NY on Friday 8/16/24 at 4 pm.
