Barbara Ann Blocker

April 1, 1956 — August 4, 2018

Barbara Ann Blocker

Barbara Blocker, 62, of Concord, NC closed her eyes to wait for Jesus on August 4, 2018.

Barbara was born in Charlotte, NC on April 1, 1956 to Amie Blocker.

She is preceded in death by her brother Randy L Blocker.

She is survived by her mother Amie Jackson (Joseph), sons Jonathan Williams (Jennifer) and Carlos Williams (Robyn); daughter Yalanda Williams; grandchildren Caliyah, CJ, Claudia, Jordyn, and Logan; uncles Thomas Blocker (Vanessa), Paul Blocker (Lorraine), and Artis Blocker (Gary); as well as a host of family and friends.

Barbara was a strong, humble woman whose faith guided her in how she lived her life. As a loving mother and friend, she nurtured relationships and encouraged those around her to live life abundantly in the Lord. Most knew her as a wise, caring woman with a servant's heart.  Her wisdom was birthed through her knowledge of the Bible and joyfully shared that wisdom with her family and friends. She was a devote member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church serving in various ministries and represented God throughout her life.  This was a blessing especially to her children who will miss her strength and dedication.  Barbara was also a great cook!  She could cook anything from cakes and pies, to casseroles. She invested in people and their families which is rare in a time where busyness is often encouraged. Barbara loved to travel and really enjoyed her trips to Alaska and Hawaii.  She was an organized person who liked order and was always dressed very stylish with matching hats. Barbara was hard working and dedicated to her job with many years at both Eckerd’s and Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services.   She was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. Her loving kindness will be missed.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 6:00pm at Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 920 N. Sharon Amity Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Barbara's honor to It Is Written or Voice of Prophecy.
