Anthony Earl Battle

Mr. Anthony Earl Battle, 60 years young, transitioned from labor to reward surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in Charlotte, NC.

Anthony was born in Flint Michigan on April 10, 1961 to loving parents Mary and Earl Battle. Anthony was a standout track athlete for Flint Southwestern High School. Furthering his education, Anthony graduated from RHETS with an electronics degree. Anthony took his degree and went to work for IBM. Anthony also graduated from IBM’s Programming School at the top of his class. Anthony was an excellent hardware and software engineer.

After working more than 34 years in the computer business Anthony retired and moved his family from Maryland to North Carolina. Anthony enjoyed exploring NC with his family. He was a humble person with a gentle spirit. To know Anthony was to love him. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, neighbor and friend. Anthony’s greatest pleasure was being a giving husband and devoted father. A lifetime Christian, as of late Anthony followed the teachings of his cousin Pastor Clarence Harris, Love Feast COGIC, Gary Indiana.

Anthony is survived by his devoted wife Glenda and beloved son Isaiah of Concord, NC. Anthony will be missed by his wonderful mother Mary Battle and dedicated sister, Renee (Calvin) Battle-Jarvis of Dallas, TX. Anthony has a large extended family whom he loved and cherished very much.
Anthony was predeceased by his father Earl Battle and sister Regina Battle.
A private funeral will be held Friday December 24, 2021 in Harrisburg, NC. Stay tuned for a memorial to celebrate Anthony’s life in 2022. Details will be announced.

Anthony\'s character proceeded him, extremely intelligent while being calm cool and collected. He had an air of confidence about him and was not affected by distraction. I can personally say I learned from him through the way he carried himself. Glenda and Isaiah, and family, you all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I too worked with Tony for many years at IBM. I agree, Tony was definitely the most nicest, kindest person! I can still hear his laugh. Rest in peace kind soul!

I worked with Tony at IBM for many years and he was about the nicest guy ever! He always had a wonderful smile which I remember although it's been many years. You have my deepest sympathy.
