Alice Elizabeth Nunley Nawas

Alice Thurmond Nawas, 70, of Concord, NC passed away on July 23, 2021.

Alice was born in Madison, WV on February 19, 1951 to the late John and June Thurmond.

Along with her parents Alice  is preceded in death by her first husband, James Nunley, second husband Fred Nawas, her youngest daughter Allison Walker Canterbury, and her oldest brother Darryl Thurmond.

She is survived by her daughters Teresa Nunley (Tammy), Tammy Nunley, Kimberly Justice (Shawn), 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters Beverly Stull (Tommy) and Rebecca White, and brothers Johnny Thurmond (Rosetta) and Robert Thurmond.

Alice was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and loved her faith dearly. She enjoyed the simple life which included keeping in touch with her siblings and friends as well as spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
